Sue Forshaw, David's best friend and secretary for more than 25 years, wrote this in memory of David:
David Wallace was full of life and love for his family and many friends. An attorney with offices in Evanston, he was always ready to help and lend a non-judgmental ear to friends and strangers alike.
Everyone who knew Dave knew of his love for Tyler, his little Carin Terrier. Tyler brought such joy to Dave. He spent as many of his free-time hours as possible taking Tyler to the Puptown dog park on Marine Drive in Chicago. He delighted in seeing Tyler run and play with all of the dogs. Tyler was rarely intimidated, no matter how small or large the dogs.
Dave was a great recruiter for Puptown. He was very impressed with how the park was maintained and with the activities that are available to the dog park participants. He met and made many friends there and did his best to tell everyone he knew who had a dog to try the park.
The loss of Dave and his loyal companion, Tyler, has left a large void in the hearts of all who have had the opportunity to know him. Dave would indeed be grateful for any donations made on his behalf to the Puptown dog park.

Rest in peace, Dave and Tyler, together forever in joy, in life as in eternity. Thank you for lighting our lives.
"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know
evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog
on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back
in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--
it was peace."

I just received the bad news and having met Dave at the Dog park several years ago, Dave has been a close and loyal friend to me and Sammy our dog. We will miss him terribly as he was true to himself and one of the few people who never was a phony. He spoke his mind to all and his relationship with Tyler was extremely a close one, taking him everywhere he went. Puptown will miss them both and I will always remeber the two of them together as they are now in Heaven.

My partner and I just got this very sad news about Dave and Tyler. Dave was a wonderful, down-to-earth guy, and always spoke lovingly about his dog Tyler. Dave had just recently lost his mom and had expressed how difficult his mother's death was for him. I take comfort in knowing that Dave and Tyler are now together with Dave's mom in a better place.
